The New Zealand Asian Studies Society (NZASIA), established in 1974, seeks to encourage the spread of knowledge about Asia, its history, its culture and its role in international affairs. The Society's biennial conferences help achieve this aim through the dissemination of original research in all fields concerning Asia.

The 19th New Zealand Asian Studies Society Internation Conference 2011 is dedicated to those who lost their lives in the 22 February 2011 Christchurch earthquake and the 11 March 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Important Dates

Call for Papers deadline – 31 March 2011 The deadline has been extented to 15 May 2011.

Early Bird Registration ends – 10 June 2011

Standard Registration applies – 11 June 2011

Full papers for proceedings deadline – 2 August 2011
